Mustang’s History

If you had to pick a vehicle that best represents classic America, it has got to be the Ford Mustang.  The idolization of this car has remained over time.  Produced out of the need to contend with their rival company’s car models and to enhance poor sales, the Mustang’s success is caused by the ideal mix of marketing brilliance, impressive entrepreneurship and media savvy.

the idea of the Ford Mustang

In year 1964, Ford Motor Company underwent a major downswing.  Although their Falcon model was selling well during the past years, their rival company Chevrolet faired better in sales after the development of their Corvair Monza model.  Naturally, Ford needed to answer back to style and character, the important features of Chevy’s model.

Lee Iacocca then stepped up and presented an idea to provide a vehicle that can be tweaked by folks.  His first idea was confounded but in the long run, he was in a position to talk to the management.  Next thing he knows, his design was being constructed.  for Ford to lessen the expenses, the Ford Mustang made use of different parts that were originally meant for other models, most particularly the drive train that can be found in the Falcon and Fairlane.  This came in two-seater models – the convertible and coupe.

The Ford Campaign

The launch of the Ford Mustang included detailed campaigns.  They publicly released the car on April 7, 1964 at NY World’s Fair.  Two days after the launch, the auto was promoted on the 3 television networks in America.  The campaign for the Mustang is one of the most successful releases in the history of America, having sold more than one million Ford Mustang units in its first one and a half year on the auto industry market.  During this time, the Mustang was upgraded to a four-seater.

One of the most vital selling pieces of the Ford Mustang is that it is only built to order.  This means that potential buyers had an extensive list of choices that they could add to their vehicle according to their preference.  A few of these options include high performance engine, power train mixes, power steering and aircon.  This was the first ever auto to include such many options for buyers and this strategy is surely useful to both dealer and manufacturer.

The 69 Mustang is one of the most asked for retro cars.  This is because of the sense of excitement and style that accompanies the cars driving experience.  The 69 Mustang for sale was the last Mustang to be built prior to Ford’s revamp which came after environmental concerns were raised because of the Mustang’s energy inefficient engine.

The Mustangs recognition however has never depended on it’s efficiency or how environmentally friendly it’s engine was.  Instead the Mustang has often been popular due to the youthful sense of excitement it has allowed its users.

The 69 Mustang for sale has always been a feature vehicle in well-liked films and TV shows.  The picture of a television star riding next to the beach, with the wind through their hair, is a picture anybody can identify with.  The enormous amount of power and acceleration the Mustang can offer is unique by any other car, this makes driving the Mustang more than any other drive, it becomes an experience.

The 69 Mustang for sale was different from prior versions in many respects.  Ford had learnt a lot from the Mustangs experience in Nascar races and new the Mustang required to become a more all round car, concentrating on future enhancements in acceleration and traction.

1969 marked a change for the Mustang from just a strong muscle auto to an automobile that would hold it’s own in any competition.  The reason being because the changes made to the auto in 1969 were some of the last before fears about the environment caused a total overhaul of the cars engine and operating parts.

Whilst in today’s environmental climate energy efficiency is a top concern for many , in the care free days of the sixes, it was all about raw power.  The 69 Mustang for sale provided this as well as a real sense of adventure that is tough to find today.  Maybe what makes the 69 Mustang so difference from today’s eco autos is the sheer roar of the engine, or the low gas per mile proportion.  Real retro vehicle fans however know that no modern car could ever recreate the memories so many people have experienced in a 69 Mustang,

Perhaps the amount of memories so many people have attached to the 69 Mustang explains why it is such high demand today.  Second hand dealers are always scoured by people looking for old Mustangs and many people are now turning to the web.

Once someone has been lucky enough to purchase a 69 Mustang for sale they’ll probably have to try and hunt down replacement parts in the years that follow.  This may be tricky as the 69 Mustang was seriously different from later versions and so original parts can be extremely tough to come across.

Own a 1969 Mustang Today!

While the 69 Mustang can be tough to purchase and maintain, most buyers agree it is well worthwhile.  Finally, when you’re driving through the streets, with the wind in your hair you’ll know you made the correct decision.

When it comes to choosing the best possible Saloon Cars, most car magazines or other Automotive mediums will inevitably point you in the direction of one particular make and model; the Ford Mondeo. The Ford Mondeo has been a consistent and popular seller since its release in 1993. Back then it was the replacement for the relatively popular Ford Sierra, which had been a good flagship model for Ford in the company car sector, but was beginning to lose its direction a tad. The Ford Mondeo was meant to reinvigorate the design and bring a more ‘executive’ edge to the manufacturer who were beginning to run out of ideas.

The Mondeo then began a 20+ year domination over the saloon car market, which is yet to dissipate thanks to Ford’s constantly evolving design ethic. The current design falls into Ford’s new ‘Kinetic’ design aesthetic, which is meant to represent the vehicle’s movement even when it is a still as a mountain. This sounds a little bit ‘clichéd’ as far as design briefs go, but in practice it really works and looks rather impressive.

In a rather crude experiment to see how the Ford Mondeo has evolved over time, I have spent the week comparing an original Mark 1 Mondeo to the new Mark 4 edition. Obviously first impressions are vastly differing; the Mk1 looks rather too much like the old Sierra for my liking, but is definitely a step in the right direction. In contrast, the MK4 looks like it was designed by future scientists. In short, it looks astonishing.

The performance test confirms the new edition’s clear dominance over the past incumbent. In a one lap time trial race of a 9.5 mile race track, there was a clear winner despite both cars having 2.0 Litre petrol engines. As if you hadn’t guessed, the MK 4 won by a yawningly long 6.3 seconds.

So what we can agree on is that the Ford Mondeo’s star is definitely still in its ascendency. Whether it will maintain its positive trajectory rather depends on Ford and the often fickle buying public.

Although the car scrappage idea was good initially, new car buyers that are part of the scheme are loosing out on the low price deals that everyone else is getting.

If you are unsure of what the scrappage scheme is, it’s where the government gives you a £2,000 grant to scrap your old car if it’s 10 years or older.

Not all customers will be denied the deal. Only car buyers that take out a manufacturers loan to pay for the car over a number of years. Scrappage scheme participants will be loosing out because manufacturers who offer these loans that have inteerest rates as little as 4.0%; they are choosing to charge customers on the scheme up to 10% APR. This now means that it would be cheaper to sell your car on the side and get a lower APR.

Toyota is one of many car manufacturers that are increasing their percentage rates. Toyota offers loan deals with annual percentage rates between.9 and 5.9%, based upon the length of the loan. However, they are now only offering a 8.9% rate to participants of the scrappage scheme. This means that if you were buying a T2 Avensis, it would cost you £14,565 with the scrappage scheme grant, but once you pay off the loan in full, you would have ended up paying an extra £700 over the original retail price of £16,000.

Ford and Seat are 2 more manufacturers that are increasing their rates for scrappage scheme customers. Ford normally offer a 3.9 APR, but if you are buying a new car with a scrappage grant, you only get to choose from the 7.9 APR that they are offering. Seat tends to be the worst, they normally offer a 0 APR, however, now if you are on the scrappage scheme, they will only offer you a 8.9 APR.

This problem has come about because the government is making the manufacturers pay half of the bill rather than the government paying for the entire scheme. This has left many annoyed and left having to try and find the money somewhere else, and this is how they are doing it.

It now seems that it would be more beneficial to sell your car seperately rather than participating in the new scrappage scheme. However, there are different options that there rather than buying your own car. Contract hire is a method of owning a car that is often overlooked. By taking out a Ford lease you can get the latest cars at cheaper prices.

So before you rush to trade your old banger in for £2,000, take time to consider the other options that could save you money.
