Lots of people browse the internet, find a apparently problem less car and bid on it in repossessed car auctions even it has just a few minutes left, never giving the bid a second thought and  never considering the fact that they do have to buy it after all. Online auctions do not differ much from real life auction and every bid should be made only if the buyer wants to buy that car. All auction sites require you to join their members list before placing bids, so that you will digitally sign the custom buyer agreement. In this agreement you can clearly read all conditions you should meet in order to keep your membership and also, the legal implications of any and all bids posted. So maybe, once in a while , it would be a good idea to actually read what we agree to do before clicking NEXT.

Important things to evaluate in online auctions:

- The fact that details are given virtually, as in pictures or movies with the car. Of course, it’s not just the pictures, you also get a description, an address or phone number or a name. If you live near the auction issuer, it’s no problem because you can personally visit the car. It’s the foreign cars that rise eyebrows. And, unfortunately, these are the cars that can make great buys. Therefore, you must talk to the owner and evaluate the car over the phone, ask him background details and so on.

- Another problem are the random bids placed by some people that are not paying too much attention. Don’t act like saints now, I’m sure you did it at least once but got lucky and someone else over bided you. We all think that there’ll be another bidder for sure. That is a misconception, because every bid can be the winning one, and bidding equals buying in online car auctions.

- Cars that lack information and/or owner phone number. If a car is lacking details and is also very cheap or when you are the first bidder, it should be regarded as a potential risk. The good news is that you can track the car with the help of specialized services that will tell you everything there is to know, for a fee.

- Extra bids that are fake bids. We all felt as if we are paranoid when a certain “buyer” was always breathing down our necks. Don’t place additional bids if you feel something is wrong, because some unfair buyers use friends accounts to place additional bids, when they don’t like the price they are offered.

- Where the car is form. Buying a car from  government car auctions that is located too far away from you residence can prove to be a bad idea in some cases, because of transportation costs that add up.
